Sam is one of our full-time servers who is also responsible for maintaining the wine list. He has worked in fine dining and with fine wine since 1996 when he began working, simultaneously, at the Refectory Restaurant and The Grapes Of Mirth wine shop. He remained at The Refectory after graduating from Ohio State University (B.A. Philosophy) as a bartender and the assistant wine steward.
He has since worked as a wine buyer, wine wholesaler, server and manager of several restaurants, but he most enjoys the roles of wine buyer and conversing with guests about wine. He has really savoured the opportunity to write the list at L'Antibes as its cuisine calls for Continental wines as a compliment. He also relishes his role in designing monthly wine dinners with Chef Litzinger.
